Targa West 2011 marks a return to competitive rally for young West Australian Steve Jones. After winning consecutive rallies in 2008 and 2009, Jones suffered an engine failure in the earliest of stages of the 2010 rally, denying him a chance to contest for the title. Steve is going to be joined once again by very talented co-driver Ben Searcy, whom he campaigned the successful 2009 tarmac championship with.

The support for Steve this year will come from the newly formed Metropolis Fabcar Racing team, who has put Jones behind the wheel of what promises to be an extremely quick Nissan R35 GTR. The team intends to mount a full on assault on this years Australian Tarmac Championship, a trophy still yet to find a home in the Fabcar showroom. Steve is also backed this year by McDonalds, and northbridge super gym – live fitness.

The new Metropolis Fabcar team proudly boasts a background of both talent and competitive pedigree. Piloting an Evolution X in the showroom class is very competent steerer Dave Heaton. The guys at Fabcar have just finished prepping his Mitsubishi for the rally, and they are confident of it being very competitive.

Ross Hamilton makes his return to Targa West on the back of a sensational 3rd outright in the 2010 rally behind the wheel of his Evo 9. Ross has enjoyed a string of good form coming into Targa West 2011, and will be pushing to better his performance this time round.
